At the time of the execution, Ruve wanted to stop the execution by raising her arm but Jieun had blocked him from doing so. The reason Jieun did that is probably again because of the threat she felt from Zena

It was judged that she will either die through poisoning herself in a limited amount of time. If she wasn’t dead by then, then she will be guillotined. Tia wanted to save Jieun for saving her life and talked about it with Ruve and Ruve gave two type of poisons. One is a deadly poison that will kill the person who drinks it and another one is a poison in which probably the heart will stop beating, making her as if she was dead (a little like the poison Juliette drank to fake her death) and then elope to somewhere else. Jieun decided to live on.
